If you prefer an alternative crematorium such as Woodvale, Worthing, or another location, this can be arranged and may be subject to an additional cost.

Unattended Direct Cremation

H J Newington handles all arrangements with care and respect. After the cremation, the ashes can be collected from the crematorium or scattered unwitnessed. This gives you the time and space to remember your loved one in your own way.

This fixed cost covers services provided locally; however, we reserve the right to apply additional charges for any altered or bespoke product or service requirements, as well as changes to the distances involved. You will be informed of any additional costs in advance.

Loved One In Chapel Funeral Service

H J Newington offers the “Loved One In Place” service to help you say your final farewells with dignity, removing the need for processional vehicles and the emotional burden they often carry. This thoughtful option is designed for families who wish to forego a traditional cortege but still desire a meaningful gathering.

With this service, you enter the chapel to find your loved one already resting peacefully inside. It creates a gentle, welcoming atmosphere as family and friends arrive, accompanied by a beautiful piece of music to mark the beginning of your tribute.

The Loved One In Place Funeral Ceremony offers a heartfelt and respectful service, designed to honor your loved one with simplicity and care. This service includes a funeral ceremony where mourners are welcome to attend; however, it does not include any processional vehicles. Every aspect is handled with the utmost compassion and dignity.

Please note that full payment is required at the time of booking. The fixed cost covers services at Woodvale Crematorium. Should you wish to use another local crematorium, any difference in cremation fees will apply. Additionally, we reserve the right to charge for bespoke requests, specific product needs, or changes in travel distances. Any additional costs will be communicated to you in advance.

Early Morning Hearse Only Cremation Service

We arrange for a service that reflects your wishes, offering you the choice of either a religious ceremony led by a minister or a non-religious tribute conducted by a civil celebrant.

This service includes the provision of a traditional hearse and a classic black limousine for the principal mourners, ensuring a formal and respectful procession to your loved one’s final resting place. Our commitment is to support you in creating a fitting and memorable farewell.

  • A single journey from one starting  location is included
  • One limousine is provided for a period of 2.5 Hours from the arrival at the funeral home; additional time may be charged.
